Job description

Description:

About CRI:

Over the past 30+ years, CRI has partnered with countless companies to create workplaces that become ecosystems for imagination, inspiration, and ideas.

In the landscape of ever-changing office design, we strive to create resilient workplaces that become launch pads for teams to feel excited, motivated, and encouraged to do their best work.

Our expertise is built upon a solid foundation of workplace strategy and furniture design, project management, and client advocacy. We are passionate about our values and strive to be an example of excellence in all that we do.

About the Role:

The Resale Operations Manager owns the daily execution and performance of CRI’s The Shop, serving as the central point of responsibility for how resale inventory is managed, presented, sold, and supported.

This role combines hands-on operational work with accountability for results. The Resale Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate and visible inventory, proactively managing inventory flow to support timely turnover, and ensuring customers and internal partners consistently have a positive experience working with the resale operation.

The Resale Operations Manager works independently day-to-day while partnering closely with Sales, Design, Warehouse, and Leadership to coordinate resale activity, align priorities, and remove operational friction. Success in this role is reflected in inventory that turns efficiently, smooth and reliable resale operations, and strong feedback from customers and internal stakeholders.

This role is eligible for our Flexible Workplace Policy, with an expectation to be onsite in San Leandro 3 days per week to support operations.

Requirements:

Summary of Responsibilities

Inventory Flow & Resale Operations

  • Own the entire resale inventory lifecycle - intake, tagging, showroom placement, sale, and disposition - and keep inventory accurate, visible, and moving.
  • Ensure all resale items are consistently tagged and tracked using AX Wrap / SnapTracker and shop sales tags.
  • Routinely review inventory age and condition and take action on items that need pricing changes, promotion, relocation, or alternate disposition.
  • Flag longer aged inventory (over 5 months) and make clear recommendations to leadership on next steps.
  • Maintain and adjust showroom layouts and rack zones so the space stays organized, intuitive, and ready for customers.

Customer & Stakeholder Experience

  • Act as a primary point of contact for walk in resale customers and Sales referred clients.
  • Walk customers through available inventory, answer questions, and demonstrate basic product functionality (including task chair adjustments/demos).
  • Make on the spot pricing or discount decisions within established guidelines to support sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate directly with Sales, Design, Warehouse, and Operations on holds, pulls, pickups, deliveries, and resale timelines.
  • Ensure every resale interaction reflects CRI’s values and commitment to thoughtful, customer centered service.

Operational Excellence & Process Ownership

  • Run daily resale operations and ensure tasks, schedules, and workflows are clear and executed consistently.
  • Keep accurate records of inventory status, resale activity, and operational needs so information is easy to track and act on.
  • Identify where resale processes break down or create unnecessary friction and propose practical improvements.
  • Implement process changes that improve consistency, reduce errors, and make collaboration easier across teams.
  • Stay in regular communication with the Align Warehouse team and leadership to remain aligned on priorities and daily needs

Resale Performance & Visibility

  • Track resale activity and key operational inputs and support quarterly reporting on performance and revenue.
  • Actively promote resale inventory internally, including highlighting slower moving items through Teams Product Depot or other agreed upon channels.
  • After initial organizational improvements, support ongoing resale visibility through social media posts, email outreach, or other approved promotional efforts

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in resale, retail, warehouse, or inventory focused operations.
  • Hands on experience owning day to day operational outcomes in a fast paced, detail driven environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management practices, resale workflows, merchandising, or customer facing service environments.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross functional partners.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse and showroom settings and being physically active throughout the workday.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Retail Management, or a related field is a plus; equivalent hands on experience welcomed.
  • Exposure to furniture, task chairs, contract furniture, or related products is a plus, but not required.

CRI’s Values:

  • Be a Good Human – Be kind, be respectful, be positive, have fun. We work hard, play hard and do the right thing.
  • Be the Best Teammate – Roll up your sleeves, share wins and losses, approach creative problem solving collaboratively, be a no-ego doer. Together we are a force to be reckoned with.
  • Be Inquisitive – Be engaged, find the why, value learning. Each day is a new opportunity to be better and put into practice the learning from the day before.
  • Be a Design Thinker – Have empathy, question, ideate and solve. We encourage design thinking in all facets of our business.
  • Be an Example of Excellence – Go above & beyond, show initiative, be proud. Expect the best of yourself and each other every day.
  • Be Authentic – Live our values with your personality. We want you to be you!
