New PSA Service Sales Rep - Fire

Johnson Controls is a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings. In this role, you will help customers protect commercial properties by growing planned service agreements for fire and related building systems.

Role Overview

As a PSA Service Sales Rep - Fire, you will be responsible for developing new business and expanding existing customer relationships through planned service agreement sales. You will work with commercial customers to understand their needs, position the right service solution, and convert opportunities into recurring business that supports long-term customer value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and sell planned service agreements for commercial building systems, including fire alarm, suppression, sprinkler, security, sound, communication, and inspections.
  • Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers of service contracts.
  • Develop positive customer relationships and build trust through consistent follow-up and professional communication.
  • Identify customer needs and create a sales strategy that matches the building, account, and service opportunity.
  • Close sufficient sales to meet sales plan objectives and maintain a healthy proposal backlog.
  • Conduct building surveys to support estimates and develop accurate sales proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, correspondence, expenses, and competitive activity.
  • Submit sales reports on time and keep internal stakeholders informed of pipeline status and customer developments.
How You Will Do It
  • Own your results with accountability, safety, and integrity in every customer interaction and sales decision.
  • Stay close to the customer's building, priorities, and installed base so you can remove obstacles and present the right service solution.
  • Use marketing strategies, lead follow-up, and disciplined prospecting to create a steady flow of opportunities.
  • Improve every day by listening to customer feedback, reviewing proposal outcomes, and refining your approach with candor and problem-solving.
  • Work as one team with operations and internal partners, sharing information clearly and valuing different perspectives.
  • Use Salesforce to track activity, manage follow-up, and maintain accurate sales reporting.
Qualifications
  • Experience in B2B sales, account development, or service agreement sales in a commercial environment.
  • Ability to sell technical or facility-related solutions with a clear understanding of customer needs and decision drivers.
  • Knowledge of commercial building systems, ideally including fire alarm, suppression, sprinkler, security, sound, communication, or inspections.
  • Ability to conduct building surveys, prepare estimates, and support proposal development.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Demonstrated organization, follow-through, and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, manage a proposal backlog, and produce timely sales reports.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.
Nice to Have
  • Experience selling planned or preventive maintenance agreements.
  • Familiarity with vertical markets and fire code requirements.
  • Prior experience working closely with operations, estimators, or service teams.

Salary Range: HIRING SALARY RANGE: $55k-72k (Salary to be determined by the education,experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignmentwith market data.)* This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take intoaccount volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis.This position includes acompetitive benefits package.The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for
