Job description

The Repack Associate (Short Order Selector) is tasked with efficiently and accurately selecting products for Keany customers who place orders in smaller quantities, whether by individual units, by weight, or by half cases. Additionally, the Repack Associate is responsible for the precise and timely loading of the repacked items onto pallets for Keany Produce customers.
Schedule: AM & PM shifts
  • AM: 7am - Until Completion Monday to Friday

Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Pulling, labeling, and re packaging broken case / short order product for Keany Produce customers by measuring, weighing, and Counting products and materials
  • Inspecting completed orders to ensure that all product items have been pulled and ensure that produce is packed properly
  • Make sure that all produce is stocked in an organized manner to save time and increase ease of work
  • Keep track of stocks received from various sources
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
  • Remove complete or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas.
  • Cleaning the warehouse area including sweeping and removing any boxes
  • Filling empty slots with new produce, dairy products, and dry goods

Work Requirements / Condition:
  • Degree of physical demands (strength) usually associated with this position:
  • Minimum lift requirement 50-60 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Requires repeated stooping and bending
  • Frequent lifting and carrying boxed/bagged fruits and vegetables
  • Requires continuous standing for extended periods of time
  • Frequently requires riding a motorized, stand-on pallet jack

Environmental conditions (physical surroundings and hazards) are usually associated with this position:
  • Working in a 40-degree (F) processing area for 8-10 hours daily
  • Working in a damp environment for 8-10 hours daily
  • Moderately noisy environment
  • Able to lift and load products into boxes
  • Able to make judgments on product quality
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment, and have good organizational skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to recognize letters and symbols.
  • Experience in direct order pulling, preferably in the produce industry
  • Basic awareness of produce types
  • Basic warehouse distribution
  • 1 -2 years direct order pulling experience preferably in the produce industry preferred
  • Advanced warehouse distribution and advanced produce knowledge preferred
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change in work assignments and priorities preferred
  • Must be a self-starter, assertive decision maker, forward thinker, and problem solver
