Description
Our Places Finance team is a lively, interactive team that has a direct impact on the business. There are constant opportunities for growth and development, along with the responsibility to provide finance solutions that are innovative and support both our internal and external customers. Places Finance works closely with teams around the world including Global Energy and Sustainability, Corporate Procurement, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Corporate FP&A, Technical Accounting and Global Business Solutions.
The Senior Renewable Energy Analyst will support the Global Energy & Sustainability team’s ongoing renewable energy transactions and investments. Apple is a global leader in corporate renewable energy and has achieved its 100% renewable electricity goal for serving its corporate, retail, and data center facilities. Apple has made a commitment to be completely carbon neutral across our entire product lifecycle by 2030. We’ve made progress, but there is more work to do!
Whether for tax equity investments in the US or VPPAs and partnerships in Europe and Asia, you will have experience in renewable energy finance and deal analysis. You will ensure deals meet our long-term performance expectations and engage in deep collaboration with a broad range of Apple departments.
We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive professional who can think strategically and stay connected to our internal customers. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of integrity, creativity, initiative, accountability, communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaboration and excellence.","responsibilities":"Partner with the Global Energy & Sustainability team, prepare and analyze financial models, support due diligence. Serve as the Places Finance team’s key subject matter authority and act as the team’s primary interface with other core finance teams at Apple
Maintain visibility to the pipeline of projects and expected impact on the P&L; act as key liaison for the Global Energy & Sustainability team and consultant on financial elements of proposed deals
Monitor renewable investments’ financial performance and support financial reporting functions as needed. Track investment returns; maintain portfolio model and manage intake and consolidation of actuals
Present portfolio results to internal partners on a quarterly or semi-annual basis
Prepare and submit monthly cash flow and balance sheet forecast for renewable energy investments
Prepare and submit annual Green Bond deal disclosure
Consult with Technical Accounting on accounting treatment for potential deals as needed
Prepare quarterly journal entries for renewable energy
Support annual planning process through rigorous analysis and presentations articulating Apple’s ongoing renewable energy strategy
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in banking, investment analysis and/or renewable energy transactions. US tax equity a plus
Experience with enterprise software systems such as SAP and Adaptive Insights, and data analysis tools such as Tableau
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of relevant experience in a high performance organization
BA/BS degree in finance, economics, or other relevant field with experience focused on project or renewable energy finance, development, and management
Demonstrated ability to conduct complex, data driven analysis. Strong knowledge of Excel required
Ability to collaborate seamlessly with partner teams and navigate through a large organization
Significant experience building and reviewing financial models, and performing due diligence, valuation, and reporting
Knowledge of financial accounting principles
Understanding of renewable energy markets and policies
Strong project management and time management skills to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced global setting
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate results of analysis in easy to understand business terms
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $137,900 and $207,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
