Job description

I am partnered with a leading U.S. bank that is continuing to build out its Renewable Project Finance team and is hiring across the Associate and VP level.


This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded, lead-oriented project finance platform with activity across U.S. power and renewables. The team is involved at the front end of transactions, giving underwriters exposure to financial modeling, structuring, underwriting, diligence, negotiations and execution.


The platform has a strong presence across solar and battery storage, while also financing a broader range of power and energy infrastructure technologies.


Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and execute U.S. renewable and power project finance transactions.
  • Build, analyze and review detailed project finance models.
  • Evaluate project cash flows, financing structures, downside cases and key credit considerations.
  • Coordinate technical, legal, market, insurance and other third-party diligence.
  • Review and synthesize third-party reports as part of the underwriting process.
  • Prepare credit materials and support transactions through internal approval.
  • Work directly with sponsors, developers, lenders, advisors and external counsel.
  • Support the structuring and negotiation of financing terms and transaction documentation.
  • Participate in transactions across solar, BESS, distributed generation and other power technologies.
  • At the VP level, take increasing ownership of transactions, documentation, negotiations and junior team development.


Background:

  • 3-8+ years of experience within U.S. project finance, structured finance, infrastructure finance or renewable energy finance.
  • Renewable project finance experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with solar, battery storage and/or distributed generation is particularly relevant.
  • Understanding of project-level debt structures, diligence and credit analysis.
  • Exposure to tax equity is beneficial.
  • Candidates from banks are preferred while renewable energy developers, IPPs and other relevant financing platforms will be considered.
  • Associate candidates should bring strong transaction, modeling and analytical fundamentals, with exposure to project finance processes and sponsor-facing work.
  • VP candidates should have experience taking meaningful ownership of transactions, including structuring, sponsor interaction, documentation and execution, while supporting junior team members.
