What We Are Looking For:

Join us as we help shape the future of renewable energy infrastructure! We are seeking a Renewable Energy Technician to support our Renewable Energy Resources team in the design, analysis, and documentation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV), Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and microgrid projects. Preferred to have someone hybrid at one of our PSE offices, but open to remote candidates.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Embrace, uphold, and live out PSE’s core values around People, Problem-Solving, and Progress.
  • Support the design of commercial and utility-scale Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS), and microgrid projects ranging from 100kW to 100MW+.
  • Assist Engineers with preparing project plans, specifications, estimates, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Create and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD and related drafting/design software.
  • Review engineering sketches, specifications, and project data to prepare accurate design deliverables.
  • Perform drafting, calculations, and technical analysis to support renewable energy projects.
  • Assist with developing energy production models using tools such as PVSyst, HelioScope, SKM, and ETAP.
  • Support permitting activities, project documentation, and coordination with local authorities.
  • Complete project documentation and update information within customer and internal software systems.
  • Assist with design reviews to ensure compliance with engineering standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
  • Support project tracking, estimates, and documentation to maintain alignment with project goals and budgets.
  • Contribute to improving drafting standards, workflows, and engineering efficiencies.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in computer drafting/design utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Preferred Experience supporting electrical power systems within renewable energy, industrial, consulting, or professional services environments.
  • Experience supporting Solar PV, BESS, microgrid, or other utility-scale renewable energy projects is highly desired.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, methods, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer-assisted engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, MATLAB, PVSyst, HelioScope, or similar tools.


Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $62,621 - $77,771 annually.

This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for one to five years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
