Job description

Senior Financial Analyst - Capital One Auto
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join Capital One Auto (COA). You will work for a forward-leaning organization that is actively disrupting the Auto finance industry through innovation and a customer-centric approach.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the auto lending business and contribute to high-impact financial decision-making. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious and can challenge our current processes to be more proactive, effective, and efficient.
Responsibilities include:
  • Earnings Call Preparation: Develop an understanding of the Auto lending industry, and partner with stakeholders to prepare the materials for senior leadership for the quarterly Capital One Earnings call
  • Quarterly Assessments: Analyze economic and industry trends to assess their impact on Capital One Auto and refine financial forecasts in collaboration with business leaders
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Work closely with teams across Capital One Auto to understand their strategic initiatives and determine financial implications
  • Ad-hoc Analyses:Lead critical analyses that deepen your understanding of auto lending and provide insights

You'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas:
Customer Focus:
  • Work backwards from what the leadership team needs to deliver on their goals
  • Work with the business and credit risk management to deliver Quarterly Assessments for originations and losses
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Reporting and Analysis
  • Help drive the preparation for the quarterly earnings call responses for the Auto business

Data Driven:
  • Understand all of the data that is key to your business line and how to analyze it
  • Understand and leverage the econometric driven originations and APR model in conjunction with the PA team
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to support accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance

  • Identify areas of opportunity in your role to drive efficiencies
  • Immerse yourself in your processes to understand all of the moving pieces and second order impacts
  • Assess alternative options, leveraging technology and automation

Team Player:
  • Teach and learn from all of your team members
  • Reach out to subject matter experts to learn more about each business line within Auto
  • Share your knowledge with others on the team
  • Be willing to help others on the team when challenges arise

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in financial analysis
  • At least 2 years' experience with financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative major (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering) or military experience
  • SQL and Python skills
  • Experience in financial services, banking or technology industries
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and internal stakeholders

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Plano, TX: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Financial Analyst
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
