The Renaissance Center is one of the premier event venues in the Joliet area, hosting weddings, corporate functions, galas, celebrations, and private events. We pride ourselves on exceptional hospitality, flawless execution, and creating memorable experiences for every guest.
We're looking for an energetic, organized, and sales-driven Banquet Director to lead our event sales and oversee successful event execution from the first inquiry through the final guest departure.
Position Summary
The Banquet Director serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and booked clients. This role is responsible for generating banquet sales, conducting venue tours, managing bookings, coordinating event details, and serving as the on-site manager during events to ensure every function exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Conduct venue tours with prospective clients
Generate banquet sales through phone, email, referrals, and networking
Respond promptly to all event inquiries
Prepare proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders
Meet and exceed monthly sales goals
Build relationships with corporate clients, community organizations, and wedding vendors
Event Planning & Coordination
Guide clients through the planning process from booking to event day
Coordinate timelines, menus, floor plans, and special requests
Communicate event details clearly with culinary, service, and management teams
Ensure all event documentation is accurate and complete
Event Execution
Be present on-site during scheduled events
Manage event setup and oversee banquet staff
Serve as the primary contact for clients throughout the event
Resolve issues quickly and professionally
Ensure every event reflects Renaissance Center's high standards of service
Qualifications
3+ years of banquet, catering, event sales, or hospitality management experience preferred
Strong sales and closing abilities
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Experience with weddings, corporate events, or large banquets is a plus
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require
