• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with clients through regular virtual sessions, creating a safe space for them to navigate their thoughts and emotions.
• Implement evidence-based therapy techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), aimed at helping clients overcome various life challenges and achieve therapeutic goals.
• Demonstrate active listening and empathetic communication techniques that validate clients’ feelings and experiences, empowering them on their journey towards mental wellness.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, which includes social workers, case managers, and medical professionals, to offer comprehensive care catered to the diverse backgrounds and needs of our client population.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through training sessions, workshops, and peer supervision, focusing on the enhancement of counseling skills and therapeutic effectiveness.

This position focuses primarily on serving youth, many of whom face emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges stemming from various circumstances, including family dynamics and experiences of trauma. As their counselor, you will be instrumental in supporting their development, providing resources, and guiding them through their healing journeys.

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is required.
• Current licensing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC) in New York State.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, while displaying strong interpersonal skills to foster trust with clients.
• Proficient with technology, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.

• A minimum of two years of experience working in a mental health or counseling role is required, although five years is preferred.
• Previous experience working directly with youth or adolescents is highly valued.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and approaches tailored to youth mental health issues.
