Key Responsibilities

• Conduct secure and confidential telehealth sessions, utilizing our designated platform to effectively engage with clients.
• Perform comprehensive initial assessments to gauge clients' mental health needs, collaboratively developing tailored treatment plans focused on their unique circumstances.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, employing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy, aimed at addressing a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to clients in crisis, providing immediate support and intervention to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Maintain precise and confidential electronic client records, including progress notes and treatment plans, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.
• Educate clients on mental health conditions, emotional regulation, and coping strategies, promoting empowerment and self-management.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare providers and community resources to coordinate care for clients, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their mental health needs.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest developments in mental health counseling and teletherapy best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be serving a diverse array of clients within our community health clinic. Your clientele will include individuals from varying backgrounds, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues. Therefore, sensitivity to cultural diversity and an understanding of the social determinants of health will be critical in establishing effective therapeutic relationships. You will also offer support to clients from different age groups and life situations, adapting your approach to meet their specific needs.

Qualifications

• A current license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State.
• A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field; a Master’s degree in counseling or a closely related area is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health counseling.
• Familiarity with telehealth counseling platforms and technology.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice in counseling.
• A self-motivated, organized individual who can work independently in a fully remote role.
• Willing to maintain flexible availability to accommodate varying client schedules across multiple time zones.

Preferred Experience

• Experience providing telehealth counseling services.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Familiarity with community mental health resources and services.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
