By combining specialized knowledge with accessible consultation, you'll help elevate veterinary care across a broad network of clinics.
In this role:
  • You will deliver live phone consultations to veterinary customers regarding laboratory results, diagnostic testing, and treatment options
  • You'll guide clinicians on proper specimen handling techniques and help identify factors that may impact test accuracy
  • You will advise on available IDEXX reference laboratory tests, including specimen requirements, clinical utility, and interpretation of results
  • You'll support customers with Point-of-Care diagnostics such as SNAP tests, VetTest, CatalystDX, LaserCyte, and ProCyte systems
  • You will manage a consistent caseload while meeting turnaround time expectations and maintaining availability during scheduled hours
  • You'll maintain and grow your clinical expertise through continuing education and current veterinary literature
  • You will participate in regular consulting service meetings and broader IDEXX training or organizational sessions
  • You'll document all consultation interactions accurately within the CRM system
  • You will maintain active board certification and applicable veterinary licensure

What you need to succeed:
  • DVM (or equivalent veterinary degree) with ACVIM (Small Animal Internal Medicine) board certification (DACVIM, SAIM) or equivalent
  • Active veterinary license (state or provincial, as applicable)
  • Strong clinical expertise in small animal internal medicine and diagnostic interpretation
  • Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and effectively over the phone
  • Comfort working in a remote, technology-enabled environment with dedicated office space and high-speed internet
  • Commitment to maintaining Diplomate status and ongoing continuing education
  • Ability to manage multiple consultations and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English required; other language skills are a plus

What you can expect from us:
  • Starting salary: $140000 - $150000 / year
  • Opportunity for annual cash bonus
  • Health / Dental / Vision benefits starting day one
  • 5% matching 401k and employee stock purchase plan
  • Paid time off and continuing education allowance
  • Licensure and professional dues support
  • Additional benefits including pet insurance, mental health resources, volunteer paid days off, and foundation donation matching
  • Full-time schedule (5 days, 40 hours per week) with shifts within Monday - Friday, 8 am - 9 pm EST and occasional Saturdays (rotation with day off during the week)
  • Fully remote work environment
