In this role, you will Contribute to the growth and financial soundness of the organization by assisting actuarial functions that support various WoodmenLife insurance products. Provide analysis and creates models with acceptable levels of accuracy and efficiency that is used in financial solutions.

We are looking for someone to:
  • The Assistant Actuary provides analysis and creates models that assist the following actuarial functions. Average percent of time spent within any single function varies by the incumbent.
    • Pricing and Product Development
    • Product Administration
    • Illustration Actuary Compliance and Illustration System Administration
    • Refund Determination and Inforce Product Management
    • Financial Projections, including Enterprise Value Projections
    • Valuation and Financial Reporting
    • Experience Studies
    • Reinsurance
    • Risk Management
  • May assist in the training of other associates.
  • May participate on a division or cross-functional project team or committee.
  • Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality in accordance with the expectations established by your supervisor and WoodmenLife policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

We need someone who has:
  • ASA with BS degree or higher and four years actuarial experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and mathematics.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial and modeling software.
  • Requires technical writing skills and effective verbal communication.
  • Requires flexible hours of work to meet deadlines and match business requirements.
  • Requires superior problem solving skills.
  • Ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.
  • Engages well with others and are passionate about providing an exemplary customer experience.
