Indiana Farmers Insurance is currently looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Information Technology team. The right candidate will be located in or around Indianapolis, IN.

The Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving our hybrid infrastructure with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure Cloud services, while supporting enterprise on-premises systems. In this role, you'll lead cloud modernization initiatives, automate infrastructure, solve complex technical challenges, and collaborate with application teams, Information Security, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions, all in support of our vision.

Requirements

Responsibilities for the Platform Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; may substitute equivalent relevant experience 
  • Five to ten years of progressive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, and systems administration 
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate, interpret, draw inferences, and make recommendations based on data 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated experience designing and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud environments within enterprise organizations 
  • Experience developing automation using PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, or similar automation platforms 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams 
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, organizing, leading, and managing large project
