Description
The Enrollment Management Department of Recruiting and Analytics at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Regional Recruiter. This is a remote role that requires travel within a designated region. Candidates are required to live within or relocate to their territory. As the team is expanding, we have an opening in each of the four (4) territories below:
  • North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, with secondary nationwide markets: preference for NC-based recruiter in Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem.
  • Ohio, Michigan, and New York: preference for OH-based recruiter in Akron, Cleveland, or Toledo.
  • Eastern Pennsylvania, New York, and New England: preference for PA-based recruiter in Lehigh Valley, Scranton, or Wilkes-Barre.
  • New Jersey, Delaware, and select Pennsylvania counties: preference for recruiter in Bucks County, PA, or Mercer County, NJ.

About the Opportunity
The Regional Recruiter plans and implements a student recruitment program designed to meet enrollment goals in assigned markets. The Regional Recruiter conducts programmatic and individual activities while functioning as part of the larger WVU Enrollment Management team. Regional Recruiters also serve as liaisons for numerous constituents, including guidance and career counselors, educators, administrators, prospective students and families, regional colleagues, community-based organizations, professional organizations, alumni, and campus-based partners. The specific duties are as follows, and secondary duties in support of recruitment will be assigned as needed.

What You'll Do
Office, Budget, and Technology (5%)
  • Independently establish, operate, and maintain a remote home-office space.
  • Maintain an at home inventory of admission publications, materials, and exhibitor items.
  • Oversee and administrate an operational budget for travel and events.
  • Accountable for use and maintenance of WVU issued technology.
  • Maintain professional memberships.

Travel and Territory Management (45%)
  • Partner with supervisor to develop a territory management plan that includes promotion and branding of WVU at college fairs, high school visits, panels, information sessions, virtual and special events.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the assigned territory and guide strategic planning.
  • Facilitate an annual travel schedule that meets the goals and objectives of the territory management plan.
  • Establish and maintain a database of guidance/career counselors, educators, and administrators in support of recruitment initiatives.
  • Transport materials, set up displays, and represent WVU at recruitment events.
  • Facilitate travel arrangements and reconcile expenditures per university policy.
  • Analyze data, conduct research, and report on related trends that influence and impact recruitment goals.

Events (15%)
  • Organize, plan, and host WVU specific in-person and virtual events.
  • Execute planning and organization of regional events with affiliates.
  • Plan and moderate in-market information sessions for individuals and groups.
  • Collaborate with student experience teams to support on-campus and in-market events.

Communication and Outreach (25%)
  • Manage prospective student communication by phone, email, virtual sessions, text, and print.
  • Develop and execute prospective student call campaigns throughout recruitment cycle.
  • Partner with recruitment teams to facilitate virtual workshops for prospective students.

Return to Campus (5%)
  • Visits to campus annually will be required and may include special events, training, retreats, and office support.

Reports and Expenses (5%)
  • Submit information reports weekly or monthly, such as territory management, expense and budget reconciliation, event proposals and recaps, travel plans, annual reports, communication reports.
  • Ethically adhere to WVU policy and procedure related to professional conduct, expenditures, and representation of the university.
  • Reconcile and document WVU expenditures as outlined by Shared Services and supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree plus a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree will be considered if a candidate has a minimum of four (4) years of related experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

  • Experience in higher education, recruitment, marketing, public relations, counseling or sales.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to counsel prospective students and families related to educational opportunities and financial obligations.
  • Outstanding commitment to customer service.
  • Event planning and execution skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing grammar, web-content, and promotional materials.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the undergraduate curricular and co-curricular experience at an institution.
  • Ability to facilitate equal access to a WVU education to all interested students.
  • Collaborate constructively and collegially with members of the WVU community.
  • Must be able to travel frequently (often overnight) and to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Exhibit professional behavior.
  • Collaborative and team-centered approach.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles with valid driver's license and physically capable of transporting and lifting materials over 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to qualify for a university procurement card.
  • Experience with BANNER, Salesforce and/or Target X, Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and Office 365.
