Operations Supervisor - Building Engineering
Position Overview
The Operations Supervisor - Building Engineering leads daily operations for designated areas, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery to clients and building occupants. This role provides direct operational support to field teams, tracks and reports performance metrics, and collaborates with regional operations teams to ensure consistency. The position includes leveraging specialized skills to streamline projects and processes while participating in talent acquisition and onboarding of technical staff.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership Communicate owner/landlord processes to engineering teams and contractors performing building infrastructure work. Identify, implement, and execute updates to policies, procedures, and best practices. Partner with EH&S and account management to identify safety hazards and ensure safe work environments. Manage refrigerant purchases and tracking compliance.
Reporting & Performance Management Gather and compile data for business reporting requirements. Track and monitor SLA performance metrics. Manage work orders and NTE (Not-to-Exceed) approvals in CMMS systems. Oversee budget planning and forecasting processes.
People Leadership Direct operations, staffing, performance, and development of technical teams. Conduct performance reviews and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and training requirements. Recruit, interview, and onboard technical staff.
Additional Responsibilities Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years technical experience in building engineering with strong expertise in packaged HVAC equipment repair, refrigeration, maintenance, and system design and application
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with CMMS systems (Corrigo or similar)
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration principles, and building automation
  • Strong organizational and management capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills with customer service focus
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Effective business writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently or collaboratively
  • Adaptability to dynamic work environments and change management
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification

Preferred Skills
  • 8+ years building engineering operations experience
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in commercial real estate or facilities management
  • Experience with budget management and financial forecasting
  • Trade-specific certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
  • Safety certifications (OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR)
  • Building operator or facilities management credentials
  • Familiarity with JLL systems and processes
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives

Pay $100,000-130,000 annually, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday - Friday day shift, on-call 24/7
This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Estimated compensation for this position:
100,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
