• Conduct ethical and empathetic individual counseling sessions via secure video conferencing tools, ensuring a safe space for clients to share their experiences.
• Employ evidence-based, solution-focused treatment modalities to address the needs of clients, utilizing techniques that foster resilience and coping strategies.
• Develop comprehensive and effective individualized treatment plans that define clear therapy goals and objectives, incorporating client input to tailor the approach.
• Facilitate discussions that enhance client insights into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, promoting personal awareness and growth.
• Continuously monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes and support ongoing development.
• Assist clients in establishing and reinforcing healthy coping mechanisms that can aid in managing challenges outside of the counseling sessions.

As a mental health counselor with our organization, your primary focus will be on stable, low-acuity adults who seek professional guidance for various life challenges. This may include issues such as anxiety, mild depression, relationship stressors, and overall life adjustments. Your expertise will play a crucial role in helping clients develop strategies to manage their mental health effectively and responsibly.

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Current licensure in the state of New York is essential, with accepted credentials including Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist (PsyD).
• Ability to practice independently and without supervision is a must; the ideal candidate should have no disciplinary actions on their license.
• Strong interpersonal skills complemented by a sympathetic and approachable demeanor to build rapport with clients.
• Proficiency in utilizing technology for remote counseling and documentation is required.

Prior experience in providing mental health counseling, especially in a virtual setting, is preferred. Familiarity with the latest developments in psychotherapy practices and techniques will be advantageous for your role in providing the best possible care. A background in working with low-acuity populations is also highly regarded.
