Job description

Who We Are

At Bluehost, we believe all small businesses deserve the opportunity to succeed online. Our mission is to give small businesses the confidence to think big. We're the all-in-one platform for small businesses to grow online with powerful simplicity, premium performance, smart tools and human support.

Bluehost Group is seeking a Principal UX Designer to lead the design of intuitive, engaging, and effective user experiences across our diverse product portfolios and portals. This role involves driving UX strategy, mentoring designers, and ensuring high-quality design execution that aligns with business objectives and user needs.

What you'll do & how you'll make your mark.

  • Own UX design end-to-end for Bluehost Group portal surfaces including the post-login experiences across multiple digital properties

  • Drive design decisions from customer problem through hi-fi deliverable - including journey mapping, interaction design, and dev-ready handoff with complete specs and annotations

  • Contribute actively to the Bluehost design system - authoring reusable components, interaction patterns, and templates that scale across the portal

  • Partner with PMs to review lo-fi prototypes before hi-fi kickoff, ensuring design work is grounded in customer problems and measurable outcomes

  • Lead design critique and peer review sessions - raising the quality bar across the UX team regardless of surface ownership

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and CX research to deliver experiences that drive activation, engagement, and retention

  • Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards, interaction quality expectations, and design system compliance

AI-Native Design Practice

  • Actively embed AI tools into your design workflow - using AI for layout ideation, UX copy generation, component suggestions, and competitive research to accelerate speed-to-hi-fi

  • Adopt and champion design-to-code workflows (Claude Design, Figma MCP, Cursor) and share reusable AI-powered patterns and experiments with the broader design team

Who you are & what you'll need to succeed.

    • 10+ years of UX/product design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating complex logged-in or SaaS product surfaces

    • Deep expertise in modern design system tooling

    • Experience designing for web hosting, CMS, or SMB-facing products is a plus

    • Strong systems thinker - you design patterns, not just screens

    • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and concurrent workstreams

    • Experience partnering directly with PMs and engineering in an agile delivery environment

    • Excellent communication and storytelling skills - you can present design decisions to senior leadership clearly and confidently

    Why you'll love us.

    • Work-life balance. Our work is thrilling and meaningful, but we know balance is key to living well.

    • We celebrate one another's differences. We're proud of our culture of diversity and inclusion. We foster a culture of belonging. Our company and customers benefit when employees bring their authentic selves to work. We have programs that bring us together on important issues and provide learning and development opportunities for all employees. We have 20 + affinity groups where you can network and connect with employees globally.

    • We care about you.We provide excellent Health Insurance options to fit you, HSA, Medical, Dental, Vision, Matching401K,Life/AD&D/STD/LTD,TuitionReimbursement, Pet Insurance, Generous vacation policy, and much more!

    • Where can we take you? We're fans of helping our employees learn different aspects of the business, be challenged with new tasks, be mentored, and grow their careers. Unfold new possibilities with Bluehost #OTOD!
