Job description

About Us
Apple Designs is a wayfinding and environmental graphic design firm specializing in signage systems that help people navigate the built environment. Our work spans static and dynamic signage, experiential graphic design, and visual communications for public spaces like airports, hospitals, and corporate campuses.

Position Overview
We're hiring a remote Signage & Wayfinding Specialist / Revit Drafter to support our growing project portfolio. This role is dedicated specifically to signage and wayfinding documentation — not general architectural design — and is responsible for creating detailed Revit models, construction documents, and design intent documentation for signage projects from concept through completion. This is a fully remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S., with occasional travel to our Raleigh, NC studio or project sites for surveys, installs, and team onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently create and manage Revit models for signage projects, ensuring accuracy and detail
  • Build Revit families and components for signage systems
  • Produce signage location plans, message schedules, and design intent documentation
  • Generate construction documents including shop drawings
  • Ensure all signage systems meet relevant code requirements
  • Coordinate shared and central Revit models remotely with architects, engineers, and other consultants
  • Coordinate signage placement with architectural elements such as door frames, lighting, and structural conditions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology, Graphic Design, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience producing construction documents in Revit
  • Professional experience in signage, wayfinding, or environmental graphic design documentation
  • Experience with Bluebeam and at least one 3D modeling platform (e.g. Enscape)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage deadlines without in-person supervision
  • Reliable home office setup and strong written communication skills for remote collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Navisworks or similar BIM coordination tools
  • Knowledge of signage fabrication methods – dimensional letters, cabinet systems, LED-illuminated signs, pylon structures, or similar
  • Experience working on airport, transit, civic, or other large public facility projects
  • Prior experience working in a remote or distributed team environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range $65,000 – $85,000
  • Quarterly performance bonuses
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k)
  • Fully remote — occasional travel to Raleigh, NC or project sites required
