Guest Service Specialist

Job Description

Ensures the efficient flow of 24-hour communications by processing calls through Lakeview Hospital, monitoring the duress alarms for Stillwater HealthPartners clinic on Curve Crest and Lakeview hospital while providing a professional and courteous service. This position continually monitors all safety equipment, alarms, and security cameras. The Guest Service Specialist acts as a liaison between the hospital and security guards via cell phone and two-way radio and will maintain the security process which includes visitors after hours screening, and overhead announcements.

While working at the front desk, their main responsibilities are to proactively meet, greet, and provide a warm welcome to every patient, guest, and team member who enters or leaves our facility. They work collaboratively with volunteers and the communication desk to provide wayfinding assistance, as well as, providing wheelchair escort for patients and visitors anywhere in the facility. In addition to their core duties, they provide support to various team members as time allows.

Additional Functions:

• Keep track of those waiting for rides and check on them to make sure everything is ok, and they are comfortable.

• Provide travel arrangements for guests, visitors, and staff as requested.

• Report facility maintenance and safety concerns to facilities and/or environmental services.

Anticipate potential needs of patients and provide unexpected levels of care and service

This position is located both at the hospital front desk and down in the communications booth as outlined above

Work Schedule:.5 FTE, 20 hours weekly; Various hours available, weekend day and evening and weekday evening.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities within time constraints
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to privacy and confidentiality laws, policies, and procedures
  • Proficient in using MS Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in specific hospital software programs such as Epic
