Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments through interviews and reviews of medical records, identifying emotional, social, and environmental factors that affect student recovery.
  • Provide direct counseling and support to students and their families, with a focus on addressing adjustment issues related to personal challenges or life changes.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to create tailored treatment plans that integrate students’ psychosocial needs into their overall recovery strategies.
  • Facilitate access to community resources, including support groups, vocational rehabilitation, and housing assistance to enhance students’ social reintegration.
  • Deliver educational support to families, informing them about available community resources and post-rehabilitation services.
  • Participate in discharge planning, ensuring students have a supportive transition from rehabilitation services back into educational environments.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with students facing challenges such as emotional distress, family issues, learning disabilities, and other psychosocial barriers that impede their educational success. Special attention will be given to students recovering from physical injuries, providing them holistic support as they return to school.

Qualifications
  • Valid and active LCSW license in the state of California.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
