Role Overview
The Senior Engineer, Remote Commissioning serves as a senior technical authority within the Commissioning Support Center (CSC), providing commissioning leadership for gas turbine combined-cycle power plants. This role supports multiple complex projects concurrently across pre-commissioning, first fire, tuning, reliability runs, and early commercial operation while influencing commissioning standards, operating philosophy, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic oversight to ensure efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Provide senior-level remote commissioning support for multiple projects, including first fire, tuning, performance validation, reliability runs, and early operations.
  • Act as final technical escalation authority for complex commissioning, performance, controls, and system integration issues.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and analysis of DCS, historian, and monitoring system data across gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, BOP, and auxiliary systems.
  • Lead multidisciplinary root cause investigations and provide technical recommendations balancing safety, schedule, contractual risk, and long-term reliability.
  • Serve as senior technical interface with site teams, engineering, product support, IT, project management, and customer stakeholders.
  • Support commissioning governance, standards development, lessons learned, compliance activities, audits, and executive-level technical reviews.

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineeringdiscipline or technical diploma from college or university and 10+ Years extensive direct experience in Commissioning operations or engineering experience in power generations systems is required. Knowledge of ISO procedures and OSHA safety requirements isdesired.
  • Extensive experience with combined-cycle power plants, turbine controls, performance testing, and remote commissioning support.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills with the ability to resolve complex, high-risk issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail required. Experience with basic software packages such as Project Schedule P6 or similar would also be an asset.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer sponsored work authorization.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • This is position is onsite in Lake Mary, Florida.
