Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, LLP, an internationally recognized intellectual property law firm located near Mosaic District in Vienna, VA, has an exciting opportunity for  a motivated and highly skilled Chemical Patent Attorney to join our team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and prosecution of patent applications for leading global technology companies
  • Collaboration with clients and other professionals
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest developments in patent law
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry/biochemistry, or equivalent required
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO required
  • At least 2 years of patent prosecution and/or USPTO experience in handling cases in at least one related area such as materials, inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, biotechnology, chemical compositions, etc.
  • Strong technical writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills with well-organized and very responsive and positive attitude
