Caring Companions Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW) to provide compassionate and specialized mental health care through telehealth services. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals on their journey to healing, especially those who have experienced trauma, PTSD, and complex emotional challenges. This position allows for remote work, fostering a flexible work-life balance while making a meaningful impact in the community.

About the Organization

At Caring Companions Behavioral Health Center, located in Fresno, California, we are dedicated to offering a safe and supportive telehealth environment for all our patients, particularly trauma survivors. Our organization is committed to employing evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care methodologies to ensure our clients receive the highest standard of mental health services. Our values center around empathy, respect, and empowerment, as we work to promote wellness and resilience among those we serve.

Work Environment

This role will primarily operate in a remote setting via our telehealth platform, allowing you to connect with clients through secure video and audio technologies. As part of a dynamic and collaborative team of mental health professionals, you will have access to virtual resources, regular team meetings, and case consultations, all designed to foster a supportive work atmosphere that prioritizes employee wellness and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate the psychological history of patients, identifying trauma impacts and creating tailored treatment plans.
  • Design and implement individualized therapeutic strategies that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and emotional wellness.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Facilitate supportive group therapy sessions that empower individuals to share their experiences, foster community, and promote collective healing.
  • Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care plans that address the multifaceted needs of patients.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and ongoing support to clients during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources to foster a deeper understanding of their mental health journey.
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation in compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements to ensure comprehensive record-keeping.
  • Participate in continuous professional development opportunities, team meetings, and case consultations to enhance skills in trauma-informed care.
  • Stay informed about the latest research, effective methodologies, and emerging practices in the field of trauma therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve adults and adolescents grappling with a wide range of trauma-related disorders, including PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our patient population includes individuals overcoming significant life challenges, and your role as a therapist will be pivotal in helping them develop healthy coping mechanisms and regain control over their lives.

Qualifications
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current, valid state license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and the applications of trauma-informed treatments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and virtual communication tools.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting focused on trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Experience in delivering trauma-focused interventions and therapeutic modalities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a virtual environment.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 yearly, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package including:

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to help you plan for the future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO), including holidays, to promote work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage for peace of mind in your practice.
  • Continuing education opportunities to support your professional growth and development.
  • Opportunities for career advancement within our trauma-informed practice.
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment centered around trauma-informed care principles.
