Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough initial assessments through video consultations, documenting client history and mental health status.
  • Evaluate clientsโ€™ emotional, psychological, and behavioral health using clinical interview techniques and evidence-based assessment tools.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that address clients' specific needs, incorporating feedback and goals articulated by the client.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote healing and provide coping mechanisms.
  • Monitor clients' progress continuously, adjusting treatment plans and methods as necessary to meet changing needs.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, coordinating care with doctors, social workers, and other specialists.
  • Follow up with clients after hospitalization or significant therapeutic referrals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide education and support to client families, helping them navigate challenges related to mental health issues.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clients will include a diverse range of individuals, couples, and families facing various mental health challenges from anxiety and depression to traumatic stress and substance use disorders. Your role is pivotal in creating a safe space for clients to express their concerns, fostering a therapeutic environment where they can explore their thoughts and feelings openly. Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (e.g., LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in Illinois.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, with a solid understanding of therapeutic techniques and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client documentation and treatment plans efficiently.
  • Knowledge of mental health conditions co-occurring with physical health issues and addiction.
