Geographic Scope: 1–2 States (may include multiple key metro areas)

Position Overview

The Area Vice President (AVP) of Sales is a high-impact, front-line sales leader responsible for driving revenue performance, developing local talent, and ensuring consistent execution of sales strategies within a defined geographic territory.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Sales, the AVP serves as both a player and coach—personally leading key sales opportunities while managing and developing a team of 2–4 field sales professionals. This role is pivotal in driving the adoption of the company's aesthetic portfolio of products through strong leadership, disciplined pipeline management, and consistent in-market presence.

The AVP must excel in both strategic sales management and hands-on field execution, ensuring that their territory not only meets but exceeds quota expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of 2–4 sales professionals across assigned states or markets.
  • Conduct regular field rides, one-on-one coaching sessions, and performance reviews with team members
  • Lead by example through active selling, customer engagement, and closing high-value deals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work with the EVP to recruit, onboard, and train new sales talent to ensure long-term growth and bench strength.

Pipeline Management & Forecasting

  • Oversee all territory pipeline activity with precision—ensuring accuracy in forecasting and CRM data.
  • Drive weekly pipeline and opportunity reviews with team members to ensure full visibility into performance.
  • Support team in advancing deals through the sales cycle—removing obstacles, influencing decision-makers, and helping close business.
  • Partner with the EVP to align forecasts with regional and national targets.
  • Work with the EVP as well as team members to get submitted deals funded and shipped

Field Sales & Territory Execution

  • Maintain direct responsibility for personal quota achievement through self-generated opportunities and shared deals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with top practices, physicians, and business owners within the territory.
  • Execute sales strategies to grow market share and maximize revenue across all products.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales and Marketing on local lead generation and event execution.
  • Stay current on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the aesthetics space.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Clinical, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure seamless customer experiences post-sale.
  • Communicate territory needs, customer feedback, and market insights to regional leadership.
  • Represent the territory in regional meetings, sales meetings, and national events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of proven sales experience with at least 2+ years of leadership or player-coach management experience.
  • Demonstrated success in aesthetic device sales with consistent quota overachievement.
  • Strong leadership presence, interpersonal skills, and ability to coach both seasoned and developing sales talent.
  • Highly organized with strong command of CRM, forecasting, and territory management tools.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively throughout assigned geography (50–70% field presence expected).
