A day in the life.

Reporting to the SVP, National Claims Director, you will serve as a senior resource and technical authority on complex and high-exposure claims, bringing deep expertise, strategic judgment, and a national perspective to drive resolution on complex, high-stakes commercial P&C claim situations across the organization. In this capacity, you will build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional leadership, industry vertical leaders, and Marsh Risk, ensuring MMA clients receive best-in-class advocacy at every level. You will actively participate in the national Claims COE, contributing to the standards, tools, and practices that elevate claims performance.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide protocols for the identification, escalation, and resolution of complex claims; track outcomes and surface trends.

  • Develop and manage a robust claims data tracking system to identify emerging challenges and inform proactive strategy.

  • Negotiate carrier claim handling guidelines and escalation procedures with insurers and wholesalers.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across MMA, Marsh Risk/Marsh Claims Advocacy, wholesalers, and insurer claim executives to drive collaboration and client outcomes.

  • Provide E&O expertise and guidance, partnering closely with the MMA Legal team to investigate and advocate on claims with potential E&O exposure.

  • Support new business and renewal opportunities by presenting MMA's claims advocacy capabilities as a competitive differentiator.

  • Partner with regional teams to support client retention through expert navigation of complex and challenging claim situations.

Our future colleague.

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • 10+ years of P&C insurance experience with a strong focus on claims, coverage, and/or litigation.

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD strongly preferred; other advanced credentials or designations a plus.

  • Deep expertise in coverage analysis and claims advocacy across multi-line, high-severity commercial P&C claims with significant financial and reputational exposure.

  • Proven track record advocating on complex and disputed claims, including direct carrier negotiations and dispute resolution.

  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills - able to include outcomes across clients, carriers, counsel, and internal teams.

  • Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills; self-motivated with sharp attention to detail.

  • Active P&C license or willingness to obtain, as required.

  • Previous experience with Origami preferred.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $93,700 to $174,800.The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
