ERM Certification & Verification Services (CVS) is one of the fastestgrowing teams within ERM Group, delivering worldclass certification, assurance, validation, verification, and audit services across a wide range of industries.
As a Lead Auditor, you won't just assess systems-you'll help shape how organizations manage safety, sustainability, quality, and environmental performance worldwide.

What Your Impact Is

  • Support business growth by identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and service offerings.

This is a remote role based in North America, ideally on the U.S. West Coast or Northeast, with 50-75% travel. Most audits occur within the U.S., and global travel may occasionally be required.

What You'll BringRequired
  • Graduate-level qualification OR professional education in Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in operational roles, management system development, system assessment, or performance reporting for EHS objectives.
  • Experience in at least one of the following sectors:
    • Oil & Gas (upstream and downstream)
    • Mining & Minerals (IRMA, ASI, CopperMark; open pit or subterranean)
    • Data Centers (energy use, EHS systems)
    • Manufacturing/Fabrication (e.g., pharma, metals, transportation, machinery, household goods)
  • Training or understanding of at least two management system standards: ISO 9001, 14001, 22301, 27001, 45001, or 50001.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17021 and ISO 17029 requirements.
  • Understanding of U.S. or broader Americas EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, and sector-specific requirements).
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of delivering audits on time.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills across cultures and organizational levels.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise audit reports and present findings effectively.
  • Experience coaching others in audit delivery.
  • Fluency in English, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
Preferred
  • Additional languages (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese).
  • Broader cross-sector audit experience in complex or high-risk operations.
  • Experience contributing to the development of audit processes or competency frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead accredited audits in accordance with ERM CVS procedures, standards, and quality expectations.
  • Prepare highquality audit reports and determine assessment conclusions that support client performance improvement.
