What You’ll Do
Manage, develop, and grow a sizable and complex book of business through marketing, effective underwriting decision making, mutually beneficial agent/brokers and direct relationships, application of underwriting tools, systems, and expert resources under limited supervision.
Collaborate with sales and business unit underwriters to understand current products, market trends, and competitor’s products within a line of business in order to recommend and develop opportunities.
Guide/mentor less experienced underwriters in their respective area of expertise.
Participate in regular projects that further the goals of the company.
Participate in quality control audits and market conduct exams involving underwriting.
What it Takes
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
8+ years or related work experience with 5 or more years of experience underwriting large complex accounts within all major classes of specified lines of business
Effective analytical, human relations, and communications skills
Comprehensive knowledge of reinsurance
Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
Ability to meet travel requirements
