The City of Bothell is hiring a Utility Billing Program Specialist! Join our team and play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, managing utility billing operations, and supporting our community through accurate and efficient account management. This is a full-time, limited-term position authorized through June 1, 2027.
Recruitment information:
  • The first round of application will be reviewed: Tuesday, June 23, 2026
  • Default schedule will be the following: 5/8's
  • Note: This role will initially be onsite for up to the first six months, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule thereafter.

What will you do in this position?
  • Provide exceptional customer service to city departments and the public by resolving accounting and utility billing inquiries and explaining policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Process utility payments from multiple channels, including online, phone, bank files, and in-person transactions, ensuring accurate and timely posting.
  • Maintain utility billing records, research account discrepancies, and process customer account updates and change orders.
  • Prepare and manage customer-related files, reports, and records, including senior discounts, rates, usage data, and other billing information.
  • Perform data entry, data retrieval, and routine computer system operations to support billing and accounting functions.
  • Respond to escrow closing requests and process final utility billings in compliance with state regulations.
