Job description

Agility Recruiting is conducting a temp-to-perm search on behalf of a nonprofit housing organization in need of a Senior Grant Accountant. Reporting to the Associate Director of Accounting, you'll own the financial lifecycle of the grants and contracts portfolio, including budgeting, billing, GL entries, month-end close, and compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Build and monitor budgets for grants and contracts in partnership with program staff
  • Prepare billing, invoicing, and financial reports for funding agencies
  • Record grant revenue accruals, reconcile contribution accounts, and support month-end close
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and support internal/external audits
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of nonprofit accounting experience
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP for nonprofit grants and contracts
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice to Have

  • CPA license
  • Experience with Yardi accounting software
  • Single audit preparation experience
