Job description

Job Title: Project Manager – Engineering & Construction Location: Amarillo, TX (Remote) Job Type: 2-Year Contract Pay Rate: $50.00–$60.00/hour Work Schedule: Remote (Offsite) with occasional travel Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple utility infrastructure projects for a single client. This role will manage the engineering and construction of a new substation, substation upgrades, transmission line replacements, and distribution line replacement projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background in engineering, utility, or construction environments and be comfortable coordinating cross-functional teams while driving projects to successful completion. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of utility infrastructure projects, including:
    • New substation construction
    • Substation upgrades
    • Transmission line replacement
    • Distribution line replacement
  • Coordinate project activities from initiation through completion, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within scope.
  • Lead project meetings by preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking action items.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables while providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and client teams to resolve project issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Support technical discussions and coordinate with subject matter experts to address project-related challenges.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Travel occasionally to project sites in Dalhart, TX, as needed. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably supporting engineering, utility, or construction projects.
  • Experience managing capital infrastructure, transmission, distribution, or substation projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, tracking action items, and managing project documentation.
  • Ability to identify project risks and assist in resolving technical and scheduling issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar) is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to Dalhart, TX.
