About the Mission You Will Join:Support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) in assessing and making recommendations regarding new technology insertion requirements of all DAF Systems. Utilizing cloud technologies is an example of current initiative driven by changes in technology. Current priorities for future initiatives include efforts related to cloud, mobility, artificial intelligence, and modern software coding capability development and "as a service" (aaS) effort.
Your Impact to the Mission:
VMD has an exciting opportunity for you to join as a Force Development Specialist working in our Pentagon office. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Act as the SAF CIO Risk Management Framework (RMF) Subject Matter Expert.
  • Plan, analyze, develop, and implement technical solutions as approved by the Government to maintain security for AF information systems
  • Communicate complex technical solutions to all levels of AF, DoD and Joint customers and partners.
  • Provide information assurance support for the development and implementation of security architectures to meet new and evolving security requirements
  • Provide support services to be used by the Government in the development of security/IA policies, procedures and standards as well as processes to support the security posture for the enterprise network
  • Review and evaluate security incident response policies; Implement higher-level security requirements such as those resulting from laws, regulations or Presidential directives
  • Develop and negotiate present and future security requirements for AF networks and systems, as well as, MAJCOM and theater-unique requirements.
Basic Qualifiers:
  • IAM Level 3 certification
  • Knowledge of DoD RMF (Risk Management Framework)
  • Understanding of DoD 8510
  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree
  • Specific Field of Study or Degree (if any): NA
  • Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree? Yes
