A Remote UCSF Nurse Practitioner is a licensed advanced practice nurse who works for the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and provides patient care services remotely, often through telehealth platforms. They assess, diagnose, and manage patient health issues, prescribe medications, and offer education and support to patients, all without needing to be physically present in a healthcare facility. Remote nurse practitioners at UCSF may serve patients in various specialties, helping increase access to care while maintaining high standards of clinical practice. This role typically requires a master's or doctoral degree in nursing and national certification as a nurse practitioner.
