This position is fully remote, enabling you to work from any location within the United States. Your role as a Virtual Mental Health Counselor will encompass various essential functions, including but not limited to:

• Assessing clients’ mental health needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and executing appropriate therapeutic interventions based on established methodologies and best practices.
• Providing ongoing counseling and support for clients experiencing low self-esteem, family conflicts, addiction issues, and suicidal ideation.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of client interactions, treatments, and progress to ensure effective tracking of client outcomes.
• Collaborating with family members, when necessary, to monitor behavioral changes and treatment responses, enhancing the overall effectiveness of care.
• Responding to crisis situations with timely interventions and diversions to stabilize clients in distress.
• Referring clients to psychiatrists or advanced practice registered nurses for further assessment as needed.

In this position, you will primarily serve individuals from diverse backgrounds facing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and emotional difficulties. Our clientele ranges from young adults grappling with transitional life issues to adults managing ongoing mental health conditions. You will also be prepared to meet the needs of clients in crisis, ensuring they receive immediate and appropriate care.

To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• Current licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
• No history of medical malpractice claims verified by a third party.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

While not mandatory, the following experiences may enhance an applicant’s qualifications:

• Previous experience in a virtual counseling setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms.
• Experience working with clients facing co-occurring disorders.
