We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Tax Technical Manager to join our Tax team.

BeachFleischman is Arizona's largest locally-owned public accounting firm and one of the Top 200 largest CPA firms in the United States. With offices in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as Nogales, Phoenix, and Tucson, Arizona, we provide comprehensive accounting, assurance, tax, and advisory services domestic and international businesses, organizations, and entrepreneurs.

Position Overview

The Tax Technical Manager will lead internal processes, deliver technical expertise, and provide critical guidance and support to staff and leadership. This primarily internal-facing role requires a high level of detail orientation, the ability to manage and deliver staff feedback, and a commitment to staying current with tax regulations and strategies. As a technical leader, you will collaborate with Tax Relationship Managers, mentor staff, and ensure seamless processes while contributing as a subject matter expert on complex tax issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with existing clients via email, telephone and video calls and meetings.
  • Actively manage existing client relationships.
  • Assist Tax Relationship Managers with managing client relationships.
  • Support revenue growth opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with Tax Relationship Managers and staff on technical matters.
  • Monitor key due dates and support internal processes as part of an "in-charge" role.
  • Actively mentor and coach staff to foster professional growth.
  • Deliver technical CPE (Continuing Professional Education) to develop internal expertise.
  • Provide frequent feedback to staff and assist in internal process improvements.
  • Represent the firm by participating in committees and contributing to internal initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for tax-related software and tools.
  • Act as the firm's technical expert in specific areas, including a minimum of 15 hours/month dedicated to technical reading and skill development.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies while problem-solving complex technical issues.
  • Stay current with technical regulations and industry updates, sharing insights firm-wide.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate strategic problem-solving abilities and identify technical issues outside of core expertise.
  • Stay proactive in understanding emerging trends in taxation and the business environment.

Qualifications

  • CPA required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent degree as determined by the management committee, required.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
  • 6 to 9 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Current and in-depth knowledge of relevant tax laws, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial and tax data, tax research, and legal documents to provide guidance and recommendations.
  • Proven experience in internal client and project management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage with clients and teams both professionally and confidently.
  • Passion for supporting staff in technical skill development.
