• Conduct initial assessments by interviewing new clients, gathering relevant personal history, and documenting case files to establish a clear picture of their mental health status.
• Perform comprehensive evaluations to assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, employing evidence-based tools and techniques.
• Develop and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, incorporating various therapeutic modalities and techniques to foster client growth and healing.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nursing staff, to develop integrated treatment strategies.
• Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to ensure they are effectively managed and supported, especially for those requiring hospitalization.
• Educate and support family members or primary caregivers, providing guidance on how to assist clients through the recovery process.

Your work will involve serving a wide range of clients affected by various mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. The population we serve values a deep understanding of their challenges and seeks tailored interventions—your role as their counselor is vital in guiding them towards recovery and improved mental health.

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Maryland.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a solid foundation of clinical skills.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client documentation efficiently.
• Understanding of the interplay between emotional health, physical health conditions, and addiction recovery.
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, proven interpersonal abilities, and a genuinely empathetic and supportive demeanor.

• Experience working with diverse populations and a variety of mental health disorders enhances your capacity to respond to client needs effectively.
• Background in facilitating group therapy sessions is advantageous, allowing you to contribute significantly to a collaborative therapeutic atmosphere.
• Familiarity with managing cases involving complex behavioral conditions or dual diagnoses is highly desired.

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, accompanied by a generous sign-on bonus!
