Job description

Best Practice Medicine is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to provide strategic oversight and operational leadership. This role requires a proven leader with exceptional organizational and communication capabilities, experienced in managing distributed teams and complex logistics on a national scale.
The ideal candidate is prepared to transition from field-based operations into a stable, administrative leadership role, bringing a strong background in EMS, remote team leadership, and cross-functional coordination to support operational excellence and continued growth.
About you and the role:
As a leader, you understand that people are an organization's most critical asset and you consistently recognize, develop, and support high-performing talent. In this role, you will be responsible for building, motivating, and managing geographically dispersed teams while maintaining regular engagement with senior leadership. The Operations Manager must be an exceptional organizer and collaborative partner, capable of working independently while effectively leading and supporting teams nationwide. You demonstrate composure under pressure, respond decisively to emerging challenges, and consistently meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a disciplined commitment to operational excellence.
Compensation:
  • Salary: $80,000.00
  • This position may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses and/or equity incentives, subject to company policy.
    The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's relevant experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Oversee and manage all staffing-related resources to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Primary Employee Liaison
Serve as the central point of contact for travel paramedic staff, providing guidance, support, and clear communication to meet their operational and professional needs.
Contract Oversight and Field Leadership
Provide hands-on leadership and operational oversight for travel paramedic staff at new and existing contract locations. Travel to assignments as needed to ensure staff are properly deployed, supported, and equipped to meet operational requirements.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years working full-time in the EMS system
  • 2+ years in an incident command, operations supervisor, or similar management position
  • Active National Registry certification and a valid state EMS license (Paramedic preferred) in good standing
  • Professional demeanor with impeccable communication and team-building skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years working full-time in the EMS system as a Paramedic (preferred)
  • 3+ years in an incident command, operations supervisor, or similar management position
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare, administration, or similar
  • Bachelor's Degree in EMS, EMS Management, or Healthcare Administration

Work may occur in an office or remote setting. When working remotely, the employee must maintain a professional environment, including a quiet workspace, minimal distractions, adequate lighting, and a reliable internet connection.

  • Frequently: Sitting for extended periods, walking, standing, bending, and performing tasks requiring fine motor skills, including typing.
  • Occasionally: Lifting or carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds independently.
