Remote Travel Operations information

What is remote travel operations?

Remote Travel Operations refer to the management and coordination of travel-related services and logistics from a location outside a traditional office setting. Professionals in this field handle tasks such as booking flights and accommodations, managing travel itineraries, assisting clients with travel needs, and troubleshooting issues, all using digital tools and communication platforms. This role is essential for travel agencies, corporate travel departments, and online travel companies that support clients or employees who are traveling. Working remotely in travel operations allows for greater flexibility and often requires strong organizational and communication skills.

What skills and qualifications are needed for remote travel operations?

To thrive as a Remote Travel Operations Specialist, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in travel planning or hospitality management, often supported by a relevant degree or industry certification (such as CTA or CTC). Proficiency with travel booking platforms (like Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo), CRM systems, and online communication tools is essential. Excellent problem-solving abilities, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently in a virtual environment are standout soft skills. These skills ensure seamless travel arrangements, high client satisfaction, and efficient resolution of issues from a remote setting.

What are common challenges in remote travel operations and how can they be managed?

A Remote Travel Operations role often involves coordinating travel arrangements, managing itineraries, and resolving issues for clients across different time zones. Common challenges include communicating effectively with clients and vendors remotely, handling last-minute changes or cancellations, and staying updated on travel restrictions or policies. To manage these, professionals rely on strong organizational skills, proactive communication, and the use of digital tools for collaboration and real-time updates. Building relationships with reliable partners and staying flexible also help ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.

CGS Immersive | TeamworkAR / Cicero
Location: USA/Canada (Remote)
Travel: ~25%

Company Profile:

CGS Immersive develops Cicero and TeamworkAR, two world-leading workforce productivity platforms. We help organizations reduce risk and improve execution by enabling frontline teams to build and practice high-stakes scenarios-safely, repeatedly, and measurably-using immersive experiences (VR/AR/XR) and AI.

Role Overview:

We're hiring a senior quota-carrying Individual Contributor to expand our footprint in Energy and Manufacturing, selling immersive EHS/HSE solutions that drive:

  • Higher compliance and competency
  • Fewer injuries and incidents
  • Better readiness for rare/high-risk events
  • Faster onboarding and consistent execution across sites

This role is for a seller who can operate comfortably in the boardroom and on the plant floor-building executive conviction and site-level adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, solution design, pilot, rollout, and expansion.
  • Focus on selling to Energy & Manufacturing clients by engaging key decision-makers and cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct value-focused discovery to link EHS needs with operational benefits.
  • Develop business cases that align safety priorities with executive decisions.
  • Create effective pilots and drive multi-site/enterprise rollouts.
  • Work with product teams to deliver impactful demos and workshops.
  • Keep a disciplined pipeline and provide accurate forecasts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in enterprise B2B sales with a focus on engaging EHS/HSE/Operational leaders.
  • Proven ability to sell XR (VR/AR/XR) solutions tailored for training, operations, or safety applications.
  • Extensive background in Energy and/or Manufacturing sectors.
  • Consistent record of guiding customers from pilot programs to full enterprise adoption.
  • Outstanding communication skills that convey executive presence and effective storytelling.
  • Skilled in managing complex buying committees and navigating procurement processes.
  • Resides in the USA or Canada close to a major travel hub, with willingness to travel approximately 25%.

Nice to have:

  • Proficient in AI-driven performance coaching, analytics, or skills verification.
  • Possesses a strong network and established relationships within EHS leadership communities and large industrial enterprises.
  • Experience working directly with, or selling in conjunction with, leading XR or industrial platforms (such as PTC Vuforia or STRIVR) is considered advantageous.
