Work Environment

This position is fully remote, utilizing telehealth technology to connect with patients across Augusta, Georgia, and beyond. Our virtual counseling platform provides the flexibility needed for both therapists and clients, allowing for a comfortable and convenient therapy experience. To ensure the highest standard of care, our clinical team collaborates closely, sharing insights and strategies to enhance each patient’s treatment journey. While the standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, some flexibility may be required to accommodate patient needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The licensed counselor will take on a variety of responsibilities critical to our patient care model, including:

• Conducting detailed and trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patient histories, identify trauma experiences, and establish appropriate treatment plans.
• Formulating and executing personalized treatment strategies that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience building.
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to address patient needs.
• Leading individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process trauma, develop coping mechanisms, and promote overall emotional healing.
• Coordinating with psychiatrists and allied health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Providing crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies and offering immediate support to patients in distress.
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, resilience strategies, and community resources to further aid their healing journeys.
• Maintaining meticulous and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring accurate documentation of treatment progress.
• Engaging in continuous professional development through case consultations, team meetings, and staying informed about the latest research in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role predominantly serves adult trauma survivors who are seeking help for various mental health disorders. Our clients often come from diverse backgrounds and may have experienced complex trauma, requiring focused care that is tailored to their unique narratives. The therapist will play a vital role in creating a safe space where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to confront their past experiences.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting.
• Thorough knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, evidencing a compassionate and non-judgmental approach when interacting with clients.
• The ability to manage high-stress scenarios while maintaining composure and professionalism.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications pertinent to telehealth services.
• An aptitude for collaborative practice as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

Preferred candidates will have additional experience in providing trauma-focused therapies and interventions. Expertise in modalities such as EMDR or TF-CBT will be highly regarded, and familiarity with integrated care models is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
