Job description

We are looking for an Italian Translator to support a retail brand serving the Italian market. This long-term contract opportunity is fully remote and offers a steady 40-hour workweek for an initial three-month engagement, with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance. In this role, you will shape high-end brand messaging in Italian, partnering with creative and localization teams to ensure every piece of content feels refined, culturally relevant, and true to the brand voice.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and refine Italian language standards, tone guidance, and style documentation to support consistent brand communication across channels.

• Review and enhance translated marketing, digital, and editorial materials to ensure accuracy, fluency, and alignment with luxury brand expectations.

• Provide direction and constructive feedback to external language partners to maintain quality and consistency in Italian content delivery.

• Work closely with copywriters, designers, and localization stakeholders to adapt messaging effectively for Italian-speaking audiences.

• Perform market and cultural research to inform language choices and strengthen resonance within the Italian retail landscape.

• Support terminology oversight and quality control processes to improve translation accuracy across high-volume content projects.

• Ensure Italian copy reflects the global brand identity while remaining natural, compelling, and locally relevant.

• Manage multiple assignments within tight timelines and respond effectively to evolving priorities.

• Native-level fluency in Italian with strong command of English.
• Approximately five years of translation experience focused on product, brand, or marketing content.
• Background supporting luxury, retail, or other internationally recognized consumer brands.
• Demonstrated strength in proofreading, copy editing, linguistic quality assurance, and style guide creation.
• Strong understanding of Italian cultural context and language nuances, particularly within premium brand environments.
• Experience using translation and content tools, including translation management platforms such as Phrase.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle large volumes of work and meet deadlines in a fast-moving setting.
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional evening or Saturday requests when business needs arise.
