Position Overview
Reporting to the Head of PEC Academy, the Associate Director, Commercial Training supports sales effectiveness through state-of-the-art training and is instrumental to the commercial team’s ability to achieve sales objectives. This role will build and deliver high quality training and development experiences focused on selling skills, clinical knowledge, product skills, competitive knowledge, business acumen and management skills while continually evaluating the effectiveness of the programs. The desired candidate will be ambitious, strategic, hands-on, analytical, collaborative, detail-oriented, and relentless in pursuing growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess training needs for selling skills, product knowledge, competitive knowledge, and business acumen
  • Develop and lead product-specific and market-specific training programs and materials in conjunction with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Market Access and Analytics teams, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and contribution to sales performance
  • Partner with subject matter experts across the organization for training content
  • Determine the appropriate mix of training vehicles, such as: web-based, home study, classroom
  • Develop assessment tools to validate and document learning and proficiency
  • Represent/navigate training initiatives as necessary through Medical Legal Regulatory Committee (MLR) approval process
  • Work collaboratively with the Sales Leadership team to establish standards and coordinate delivery of PEC’s training program for new hires and existing members of the field sales organization and internal commercial teams
  • Conduct field rides with members of field sales organization to provide in-the-field coaching, assess training needs, and evaluate training effectiveness and document observations and coaching steps via Field Coaching Report
  • Evaluate and improve program effectiveness through assessment tools, defined KPIs, testing and user feedback; continually seek and support new approaches, practices, and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered
  • Support the development of cross-functional training workshops and programs, including product launch, New Hire, POA, and national business meeting

Required Education/Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years successful sales and/or commercial training experience in hematology/oncology
  • Ability to develop and deliver both traditional and modern training methods (mentoring/coaching programs, virtual training, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning courses, scenario-based application workshops, etc.)
  • Strong workshop design, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Veeva, Tableau, Microsoft Office (word, excel, powerpoint), Sharepoint
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills to partner with colleagues across various departments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with cross-functional teams while being flexible and responsive to dynamic situations and changing priorities
  • Ability to travel as needed (estimated up to 35%)
The expected salary range for this position based on greater Boston, MA location is $175,000-215,000.  Actual salary pay will be based on multiple factors, including geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
