Job description

Position Overview

Delicate Touch Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time role, primarily remote, is designed for a professional who specializes in delivering therapeutic services to individuals facing a range of mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, empathy, and a strong commitment to aiding client wellness and recovery.

About the Organization

Delicate Touch Counseling Center is a community health clinic located in Atlanta, Georgia, focused on providing accessible and effective mental health services. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive environment where both clients and staff feel valued and engaged. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates closely to ensure a holistic approach to mental health, incorporating evidence-based practices to improve client outcomes.

Work Environment

This position allows for remote work, enabling flexibility to maintain a work-life balance while providing essential mental health services. Our team communicates regularly through virtual meetings and utilizes telehealth platforms to connect meaningfully with clients. We uphold a collegial atmosphere that encourages feedback, professional development, and shared learning among colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their mental health status, including the administration of standardized evaluation tools.
  • Craft personalized treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices to address the specific needs of clients. This may involve therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or person-centered therapy.
  • Engage in regular therapeutic sessions with clients to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and provide coping strategies tailored to their individual circumstances.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on fostering a safe and inclusive environment that encourages open communication.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and other healthcare providers, making referrals to specialists, including psychiatrists or additional support services as needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The mental health counselor will work with a diverse clientele, which may include individuals dealing with substance use disorders, major depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and various other mental health conditions. Our approach is rooted in cultural competence, ensuring that therapy respects the backgrounds and unique experiences of each client.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.
  • A minimum of four years of related clinical experience in a mental health setting is required.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and a commitment to cultural sensitivity in therapy.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience delivering both individual and group therapy focused on evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches.
  • Demonstrable skills in crisis intervention and conflict resolution, with the ability to maintain composure in challenging clinical situations.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document client interactions, treatment plans, and therapeutic progress.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and a history of effective collaborations with diverse groups.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health insurance with dental and vision coverage.
  • A retirement plan with employer matching contributions to support your future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) policy and holiday pay to promote work-life balance.
  • Access to ongoing professional development opportunities, including continuing education support.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and leadership roles within our organization.
  • A welcoming and collaborative work environment dedicated to inclusivity and mutual respect.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Delicate Touch Counseling Center, we are committed to supporting the professional growth of our staff. Licensed Mental Health Counselors can expect regular supervision and mentorship opportunities, as well as access to workshops and training to enhance skills and expand their therapeutic toolkit. We encourage our counselors to take on leadership roles and participate actively in shaping the future of our services.
