Position Title: Professional Land Surveyor (remote)
Licensed in : One or more of the following states: TX, LA, MS, AL, GA or FL

Position Description
Gulf Companies is currently seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team. The PLS will be responsible for the management, planning, scheduling and performance of multiple survey projects and personnel. The candidate will apply sound survey principles in planning, evaluating, and completing survey projects. Will review and approve field measurements and direct and assist with preparation of survey documents. Will also direct field surveys as required by scheduling or for professional supervisory and quality control purposes.
Essential Functions
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Conduct field surveys to gather data and information necessary for land boundary determinations and topographic mapping
  • Prepare and process legal descriptions, plats, and maps for recording purposes
  • Communicate with clients, team members, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and techniques in land surveying to improve our services and stay ahead of the competition
  • Maintain and update records and reports related to surveying activities
  • Familiarity with GIS and mapping software
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in one or more of the following states: TX, LA, MS, AL, GA or FL
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying

Education
  • A.S. or B.S. Degree from an accredited college or university preferred

  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to contribute to the growth of the business unit
  • Working knowledge of Trimble survey equipment and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Some travel may be required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Frequent sitting and operating a computer.
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials.
  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Physical demands requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work.
