Job Title: Survey CAD TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role focuses on supporting land surveying and engineering projects through precise survey computations, CAD drafting, and preparation of survey data for field crews. The Survey CAD Technician processes field data, prepares topographic and boundary surveys, and collaborates closely with engineering and survey teams to ensure accurate construction staking and documentation.
Responsibilities- Perform survey computations, including easement calculations and construction staking computations with a high level of accuracy.
- Prepare survey data packages for field crews and collect, organize, and process field data on a daily basis.
- Draft a variety of maps such as subdivision maps, parcel maps, and other related survey drawings using CAD software.
- Utilize coordinate systems for search, layout, and construction staking activities.
- Conduct research on maps, deeds, and related records to support survey and mapping projects.
- Process field data and prepare detailed topographic and boundary surveys.
- Develop and refine horizontal and vertical alignments for survey and construction projects.
- Write clear and accurate metes and bounds descriptions and perform survey calculations as needed.
- Maintain thorough and accurate field notes and survey documentation.
- Collaborate closely with engineering staff and survey crews to support project planning, design, and execution.
- Perform occasional courthouse research to obtain necessary records and documentation.
- Travel within the region as needed to support survey and data collection activities.
Essential Skills- Strong competency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- At least 2 years of experience using CAD in office and field land surveying environments.
- Proficiency in processing field survey data and converting it into accurate CAD deliverables.
- Experience preparing topographic and boundary surveys.
- Ability to develop horizontal and vertical alignments for survey and construction projects.
- Experience with construction staking, including use of coordinates and survey computations.
- Ability to write clear and accurate metes and bounds descriptions.
- Strong skills in performing survey calculations and applying survey principles.
- Proficiency with land surveying practices, including topographic surveys and land survey documentation.
- Hands-on experience with CAD drafting for land surveying projects, including use of AutoCAD and related tools.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with engineering and survey crews.
- Effective written and oral communication skills for documentation and team collaboration.
- Strong field note-taking skills and attention to detail in survey documentation.
- Valid driver license and ability to meet background check and drug screening requirements.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the region as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with land surveying software workflows, including Civil 3D and related CAD tools.
- Familiarity with topographic surveys, land surveying, and drafting in a civil engineering context.
- Experience conducting courthouse research for deeds, maps, and other survey-related records.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
Available to full-time Teammates and their families on the first day of the month after 60 days of employment. Coverage offered through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield includes medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits. Team Fishel shares ⅓ of its net profits with Teammates. Teammates become eligible after only 1 year of service. Available to Teammates age 21 or older on the first day of the month after 2 months of employment. Team Fishel will match a portion of Teammates’ contributions.
