Position Summary

TheAssuranceTechnical,Specialistsupports the work oftheAssuranceTechnicalteamto implement andmaintainthe quality assurance and credibility of the Textile Exchange Standardsthroughacting as content lead forfocus areas of accreditation and chain of custody assurance.They also supportassurance provider(certificationand accreditationbody)communicationsand internal assurance systems.The ideal candidate will have experiencein the textile and/or certificationsectorsandwill work across all Textile Exchange standardsand policies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Accreditation and Chain of Custody Assurance Content

  • Serve as content lead infocus areas ofaccreditation (ISO 17065/17011 and other non-standard specific assurance criteria) and chain of custody assurance/supply chain auditing.
  • Serve as content lead for document revisionsand calibrationswithin assigned focus areas.
  • Serve as content lead for stakeholder questionswithin assigned focus areas
  • SupportSupply Chains andClaims & Labeling teamswhen Assurance input isrequired.

Assurance ProviderCommunications

  • Support communications with assurance providers via email, online community, and virtual meetings.
  • Research and document issuesidentifiedin Textile Exchange standardsand assurance policies.
  • Answer technical questionsaroundTextile Exchange standards and assurancepolicies.
  • Manage and follow-upinformationrequests from assurance providers.
  • Assistin the maintenance and publication of supporting documents to theTextile Exchangestandards andassurancepolicies.
  • Support engagement initiatives with assurance providers to ensure compliance with the certificationsystemoperational requirements.

Assurance Systems

  • Provide administrative support toassurancerelatedprocessesinvolvingcertification bodies.
  • Support the maintenance of assurance systems, including databases, document management,and casemanagement.
  • Driveimprovement initiativesof the assurance systems.
  • Supportspecifictopicsof theTextile Exchangestandards andassurancepolicieswhenengagingwithassurance providers, particularly related toassigned focus areas.

General Support

  • Provide guidance andrespondquestions from stakeholdersin support of theStandardsSystem Department.
  • Support otherareasof theStandardsSystem Departmentas needed, including language.interpretation/translation whererequiredand skills allow.
  • RepresentTextileExchange at eventsand meetings.
  • Organizemeetings and webinars with the assurance provider communityas needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two to fouryears of experience working in a certification/standards or sustainabilityscheme capacity.
  • Knowledge of accreditation systems, including ISO 17065 and/or ISO 17011.
  • Knowledge of chain of custody certificationand auditing
  • Strong English language communication skills. Ability to synthesize and present complex informationin a simple, meaningful way.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate respectfully and effectivelyin Englishwith non-native English speakers.
  • Detail-oriented, logical, systematic, methodical, and highly organized.
  • Demonstrated interest in Textile Exchange's vision, mission, and goals.
  • Ability to work in a flexible, yet fast-paced remote environment, able to meet deadlines and share progress regularly. Comfort with ambiguity and changing direction.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation withabilityto work remotely effectively.
  • Strong teamplayer.
  • Able to workremotely/from home100% of the time.
  • Abletoaccommodateflexibleworking hourswithaminimumdailyoverlapwiththeir supervisorandteammates'schedules.
  • Proficientwith MicrosoftOffice365, including strong skillswithMicrosoft Excel.
  • Flexible to communicate with multiple time zones outside of standard working hours.
  • Able to travel internationally onoccasionalbasis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additionallanguage(s)knowledge, especiallyMandarin.
  • Native-levelproficiencyin English, particularly for technical writing.
  • One to two years of certification body experience.
  • Knowledge ofother areas related to Textile Exchange standards (recycling, animal fiber farming, organic cotton).
  • Minimuma College/University degree (B.A. or B.S. or equivalent).
  • Experience working with Textile Exchangestandards,or other ISEAL or ISO 17065 based standards.

Employment Package

  • Full-Time Position, 40 Hours a Week
  • Required travel: up to 20%
  • Annual Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 USD
