Job description

This Production Manager will manage all aspects of planning and executing full-scale productions for LIVE remote events and studio shows both domestic and International. Reporting to the Production Director, Remotes & Studio, this role requires a highly organized, proactive, and quick-thinking professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in production management, or a related role, within the sports or entertainment production industry, along with a proven ability to oversee complex remote productions, manage operations and venue logistics, and work closely with venue management and the host broadcaster. This individual must also uphold a professional appearance and demeanor, serving as an ambassador and representative of Tennis Channel on an international stage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required, with experience in Smartsheet preferred and familiarity with Lasso Scheduling considered a plus.

This role is based in our Santa Monica, CA office.

In this role, you will:

  Support Remote Production Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key resource for all production teams in studio and on remote, acting as the primary liaison between a wide variety of entities (e.g., Facility Management, senior-level Production, Production and Technical Crews, Talent, Site Operations, Vendors, Tournament Directors, and other TV Network Representatives)
  • Organize and coordinate with host venues and broadcasters all facilities, including VandA bookings, office space, power, venue coordination and logistics, shipping, and Transmision
  • Supervise and coordinate staff requirements and needs for remote productions, both foreign and domestic.
  • Help source and identify experienced crews for remote ATP 1000 productions, both foreign and domestic.
  • Oversee the acquisition and distribution of various production elements, such as event footage, music and music cue sheets, graphic elements, and equipment.
  • Partner with Travel and Finance teams to coordinate hotel needs, both foreign and domestic.
  • Organize and manage credentials, venue access, parking, catering, and crew scheduling
  • Plan and coordinate rental equipment tracking, logistics, and shipping (both foreign and domestic).
  • Develop and ensure quality control of all production books.
  • Manage and maintain schedules, production books, and call sheets using Lasso software and established Excel spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to create daily crew call times and schedules.
  • Manage and maintain planning documents, including schedules, trackers, and planning spreadsheets.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to manage costs, coordinate crew and show requirements, and ensure timely processing of crew timecards and contracts/deal memos.

Support Studio Production Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising and maintaining studio coordination, staff, and facilities, alongside the Production Coordinator
  • Serve as the primary liaison between a wide variety of entities during world feed production.
  • Partner with the Manager, Production Accountant to coordinate crew and technical show requirements and ensure timely processing of crew timecards and contracts/deal memos.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure assigned productions meet network creative and technical objectives
  • Develop and ensure quality control of all production books and daily schedules.
  • Help train new hires on production department processes and procedures. 

  Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience in production management, or a related role, within the sports or entertainment production industry 
  • Domestic and International travel required. Traveling between the United States and Europe to attend as needed Grand Slams & tournaments; total travel time averages 4 months per year
  • Willingness to work 50+ hours/week on a flexible schedule that includes day, night, weekend and holiday shifts (Tennis season is Jan-Nov; heaviest workloads occur in the Summer months May-Sept)
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments, filled with unpredictable challenges and interaction with all personality types
  • Enthusiasm for managing hands-on projects and the resourcefulness to 'get your hands dirty' and make things happen
  • Proven and strong ability to multi-task, adapt to fast-paced environment and manage several productions start-to-finish

The base salary compensation range for this role is $112,500 to $125,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
