Hybrid Nurse Case Manager (RN) - Workers' Compensation | 1099

The IMA Group is seeking an experienced Hybrid Nurse Case Manager (RN) to support workers' compensation cases through a combination of telephonic case management and local field visits. This 1099 independent contractor opportunity is ideal for nurses who enjoy autonomy, flexibility, and working directly with injured workers, providers, and claims professionals.
In this role, you'll coordinate care, attend appointments when needed, and help guide injured workers through the recovery process while ensuring timely communication among all parties involved.
Responsibilities
  • Provide telephonic and field-based nurse case management services for workers' compensation cases
  • Attend medical appointments and field visits as needed within the assigned territory
  • Coordinate treatment plans with providers, employers, attorneys, and claims adjusters
  • Monitor patient progress and facilitate appropriate medical care and return-to-work planning
  • Maintain timely, detailed, and accurate documentation
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the care and claims team
Qualifications
  • Active New Jersey RN license required
  • Must reside in New Jersey or New York
  • Prior workers' compensation and/or nurse case management experience required
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for field visits
  • Strong organizational, communication, and independent decision-making skills
