Job Description

In the role of Seasonal Trend Product Designer, you will act as the creative leader for new product design and creation within our external embellishment (Embelex) product portfolio. You will contribute to the creative direction for seasonal trim collections, ensuring they align with current industry trends. This position demands a comprehensive grasp of design and development fundamentals, trend interpretation, and inventive problem-solving in the fashion sector. We are seeking an individual who is highly attuned to the market's direction and eager to introduce innovative concepts. You will report directly to the Embelex Newness Manager as part of an agile, global team responsible for executing calendarized sample programs. In this capacity, you will help shape trend-focused sample collections that highlight Embelex's embellishment portfolio across both apparel and secondary markets.

Key Responsibilities

Work Arrangement: Remote in the United States (unless located within 40 miles of an Avery Dennison Apparel hub in Dallas, NY, LA, Greensboro, or Beaverton).

  • Guide the overall creative vision, design, and development product strategy for Embelex seasonal sample collections.

  • Drive and own end-to-end operational launch success through calendar and process accountability and strategic evolutions.

  • Stay on top of industry trends by conducting regular market and competitive analysis for knowledge of emerging consumer trends, product innovations, segmentation, and competitors.

  • Provide design and product technical support to the newness team, fostering creative troubleshooting and solutions mindset.

  • Validate back-end support for global launch, including sample distribution, product photography, product merchandising support, and product data distribution.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Textile, Fine Arts, or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Up to 5 years of experience as a graphic designer in a commercial design setting or freelance capacity, preferably in the apparel and footwear industry.

  • Strong proficiency in graphic design, trims/embellishment design, and applying seasonal fashion trend forecasts to production artwork.

  • Expert presentation and communication skills, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and digital presentation tools.

  • Applicants are required to submit a design portfolio

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $81,675 - $121,968 / year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
