Salary: Compensation: $20$22 per hour, based on experience, skills, and geographic location.

THE OPPORTUNITY

College Hill is looking for a part-time merchandise graphic designer to join our team! This role is available as either an in-office position based out of our Pullman HQ or a remote position for candidates currently located in Washington, Idaho, or Wisconsin. Regardless of location, our graphic designers are integral and highly involved members of the team. This part-time role will begin at approximately 10 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow to 2025 hours based on performance and business needs. The schedule will follow Monday through Friday, with ongoing communication and collaboration within the department.



THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for this role demonstrates strong design skills and can easily interpret written information and translate it into original graphic merchandise designs. The person in this role should have unwavering attention to detail and organizational skills that will allow them to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to design and create under fast-approaching deadlines and to use creative problem-solving skills is a huge plus.


In this role, you will be responsible for creating designs for client projects, from logo placement to highly detailed designs for print on custom apparel or products. This position does not encompass the task of developing company branding for clients. You will have the opportunity to create design collateral for internal marketing purposes and will serve as a bridge between our clients, sales team, and marketing department. The design team collaborates heavily with one another, but this role is also in regular communication with every department, adapting to client needs.


THE ROLE

Your role as a part-time graphic designer is focused specifically on creating print-ready graphics for apparel and promotional products within a multi-location design team. Working closely with the marketing, sales, and client services teams, your responsibilities include interpreting client briefs and crafting exceptional artwork for cutting-edge apparel. Meeting deadlines, managing time effectively throughout the creative process, and actively contributing ideas are crucial aspects of your role. It's essential to stay informed about our clients' industries and to implement creative trends accordingly. Clear communication with team members, other departments, vendors, and clients is paramount to success.


Graphic Designerdutiesinclude, but are not limited to:

- Managing and completing daily tasks with proficiency. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to: initial design tasks, design edits, garment and mock changes, final mock and art for production, personal projects, original design, internal marketing design, and sending files to vendors or other departments

-Adhering closely to client brand standards, as well as licensing requirements, where applicable, while continually innovating and providing the most original, thoughtful and high quality designs for our customers

-Creatingthoughtful and original artwork within our48hour turnaround time.Meetingthese deadlines means communicating clearly with your manager and team to maximize time management

-Understandingprint design restrictions, processes and design requirements

- Maintaininga strong understanding of designing for screen printedapparel, promotional products.

- Maintaining and developing a working knowledge of design formats for high resolution


QUALIFICATIONS

- Creative and artistic, of course!

- Ability to communicateclearly with multiple departments under tight deadlines

- Self-motivated and creatively inspired without micromanagement

- Proficient in Adobe Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

- Capable of working as a team, as well as on an individual basis

- Ability to adapt to different styles outside of your own personal style and preferences, in order to meet brand standards and client requests

- Follow creative direction and respond well to critiques

- Open to constantly learning and improving your craft

- Ability to multitask without compromising creativity or quality

- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in graphic design
