What are remote technology jobs?

Remote technology jobs are positions in the tech industry that allow employees to work from locations outside of a traditional office, often from home or anywhere with an internet connection. These roles can include software development, IT support, cybersecurity, data analysis, and more. Remote tech jobs leverage digital tools and platforms to enable collaboration, communication, and project management across distributed teams. They offer flexibility, the ability to work with global teams, and access to a wider range of job opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a remote technology role?

To thrive in a remote technology role, you need strong technical expertise in your discipline (such as software development, IT support, or cybersecurity), typically supported by relevant degrees or certifications. Familiarity with collaboration tools (like Slack, Zoom, and Jira), version control systems, and cloud platforms is also essential. Excellent self-management, communication, and proactive problem-solving skills set standout remote tech professionals apart. These competencies are crucial for delivering results, maintaining productivity, and ensuring effective teamwork while working independently.

How do remote technology professionals typically stay connected and collaborate effectively with their teams?

Remote technology professionals often rely on a combination of collaboration tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom for real-time communication, along with project management platforms like Jira or Trello to track progress. Regular virtual meetings and daily stand-ups help ensure everyone is aligned on priorities and deliverables. Building strong written communication skills and being proactive in sharing updates are key to overcoming the challenges of remote work, such as time zone differences and reduced face-to-face interaction. Many organizations also foster a sense of community through virtual team-building activities and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Job description

Position Overview

Join our dynamic telehealth community at Advocate Healthcare Services as a Telehealth Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). In this full-time remote role, you will leverage our innovative online platform to deliver essential mental health services, focusing primarily on low-acuity, stable adult clients. This position allows you to maintain flexibility while providing impactful counseling and support, contributing to improved mental health outcomes for your patients.

About the Organization

We provide a user-friendly online platform that connects licensed professionals with clients in need, ensuring that everyone can find effective and compassionate care. Our commitment to innovation, accessibility, and patient-centric service distinguishes us in the field.

Work Environment

As a fully remote position, you will have the opportunity to work from the comfort of your home while maintaining a professional environment. Utilizing a telehealth facility, you will interact with clients through video and audio calls, online journals, and goal-setting tools. Our platform not only facilitates seamless communication with clients but also fosters a network of over 10,000 therapists, providing opportunities for collaboration and peer support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Utilize various communication modalities, including video sessions, audio messages, and interactive tools, to engage with clients effectively.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Manage your own schedule, choosing appointment times that work best for you and your clients.
  • Participate in an accessible peer community to exchange knowledge, experiences, and advice regarding best practices in telehealth counseling.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on adult clients experiencing low-acuity issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, relationship challenges, weight-related disorders, and grief counseling. Our platform does not cater to children or individuals with severe mental health conditions, allowing you to concentrate on providing quality care to a manageable group of clients.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree or Doctorate in Counseling or a related field.
  • A Full Independent LPCC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license valid in the state of Oregon.
  • A strong reliable Internet connection, along with a computer or laptop (tablets are not supported) for conducting online sessions.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a telehealth or virtual counseling environment.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities that can be effectively executed through remote technology.
  • Experience in using digital tools for client engagement, including goal-setting applications and online therapeutic programs.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • A monthly healthcare stipend to support your well-being.
  • Free access to the platformโ€™s services as a client, as long as you maintain your active status as a counselor.
  • Flexible scheduling options, allowing you to create a work-life balance that suits your needs.
Career Growth Opportunities

Working with Advocate Healthcare Services offers significant growth potential within the field of telehealth counseling. You will have access to a comprehensive array of professional development resources, including workshops, training programs, and peer mentoring, enabling you to enhance your skills and expand your expertise. Opportunities for advancement into leadership roles or specialized areas of practice are encouraged and supported.

Why Join Our Team

By joining Advocate Healthcare Services, you will become part of a forward-thinking organization that prioritizes mental health and well-being. You will be equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance your practice, work within a supportive community of fellow professionals, and contribute meaningfully to the lives of adults seeking help. We value your autonomy and expertise, allowing you to design treatment plans that reflect your clinical judgment while facilitating positive outcomes for clients.
